The structure, functions and organisational interactions of the CBFM system and its socio-economic impacts on the households who are active in the system are the main theme of the book. Further, it observes that deforestation is very complex process and there are multiple reasons for it. Apart from the reasons, the author argues that there are some very crucial social institutional activities that influences on CBFM systems that cause immense destruction of the forests are carried out by very powerful social groups.
