Improving writing skills has always constituted a challenge for educators, especially those who teach English to non-native English learners. A main feature of this challenge is writing apprehension which has an interrelationship with poor writing skills. Following a sequential approach, this book introduces the structure of the writing workshop and the phenomenon of writing apprehension, and studies related to them. Then it describes in detail the process of designing, validating and implementing an instructional program based on the writing workshop approach to improve the writing skills and minimize the writing apprehension of students learning English as their second or foreign language. This description should be of great help to EFL/ESL teachers as well as institutions that offer education or training to prospective English teachers. It should also be of great value to course developers and researchers in the field of English education.
