The book titled "From Behind the Veil to Moon: Muslim Women´s Education" is braced for wiping out the miasma of misconceptions about the educational status of Muslim women. The study draws an empirical research and it conclusively proves that Muslim women are not lagging behind in education as made out. The last two decades of the 20th Century have registered a wave of awareness with regard to education among Muslims. As for the girls, they have come out of their houses and are eager to gain higher education. Kindled with the fire of emancipation, their hearts throb to go beyond the sky. Long-cherished dream of self-reliance has come true through education. At the 58th Annual Convocation 2008 at the Aligarh Muslim University, a woman clad in hijab, Dr. Sumaiya received as many as twelve medals in the prestigious course MBBS. Her feat indicates that Muslim girls are advancing in the field of education. Another former engineering graduate of the Aligarh Muslim University, Khushboo Mirza played a lead role in the launch of Chandrayan, first ever Indian satellite to the moon. The present work is a tribute to Shaikh Muhammad Abdullah for his services to the cause of women education.

Rahat Abrar is working as Public Relations Officer at the Aligarh Muslim University for the last twelve years. He has two post graduate degrees and doctorate to his credit.
