Child abuse is a global issue and its perpetrators vary.Child abuse in Ghanaian schools is a disturbing one which may appear mild and deceptive, but might have devastating impact on its victims and society. The issue of child abuse has led to the situation where some parents have attacked teachers and physically or verbally assaulted them for allegedly abusing their children. On the contrary, others remain indifferent to the plight of their children at school. This book is based on a research study conducted in Ghana to determine whether parents support the use of corporal punishment for instance as a disciplinary measure and how parents react when their children are abused by their teachers. This book further highlights the perspectives of parents in Kenyasi No.2 in the Asutifi District of the Brong Ahafo Region about school-based abuse of children in Ghanaian schools. This book will also be a useful piece of material for teachers, researchers, parents, child right activists, school administrators, social workers and educational policy makers.
