In the last three decades, the use of vernaculars as medium of science has been the concern of many countries. However, there have been convincing evidences which prove that this effort has been tempted by lots of solemn challenges. Absence of sufficient knowledge to develop both linguistically and conceptually fitting science terms has been one of the challenges. This lack of familiarity in providing suitable science terms has remained the heart of the challenges due to stern scarcity of literature in the field. Hence, this work takes significant share in diminishing this deficiency of resources. The study offers basic concepts of terminology, guidelines for term development and techniques for contextual analysis of terms. Thus, it considerably contributes to attempts being made by many countries to alleviate term-related problems. The study is decisive for any country that is trying to adopt local languages for science and technology. Particularly, institutions that are involved in term development, students in different institutions, terminologists, translators, subject specialists and others interested experts will be benefited from this work.
