Analysis of the Chatkhil Dialect in Noakhali District, Bangladesh´ is a research work of Md. Mostafa Rashel who is a young linguist of Bangladesh. The aim of this study is to make contrastive study of the Standard Bengali Language (SBL) and the dialect at all these levels in order to establish the degree of their variance. The present research is emphasized on the level of phonology, morphology and syntax, where significant contrasts can be brought out, once the generative theories have been adapted to suit a language like Bengali, which is more highly inflected than English. International phonetic transcription has been used to provide the correct pronunciation of the Bengali sounds, words and sentences. The analysis should help the researchers especially young linguists who have fascination to analyze the dialect mainly Bengali dialect. This work will encourage & help them how to analyze a dialect on the aspect of field linguistics. The book provides a new metric of success for linguists and non-linguists and should be especially useful to professionals in the fields of language and linguistics or anyone else who may consider utilizing dialect for language efforts
Mr. Md. Mostafa Rashel is a Lecturer of the Department of English at Daffodil International University in Bangladesh. He has completed his BA (Hons) & MA in Linguistics from Dhaka University which is the leading public University in Bangladesh. He has a number of research publications on language and linguistics in national & international journals
