Corruption affects adversely the efficiency and effectiveness of public financial management. It diverts resources, weaken planning of public goods and services and undermine the confidence in public sectors. This book aims at locating the possible are of corruption in public financial management specifically in the area of budget planning, preparation, budget execution, procurement accounting and reporting and auditing. The book brought out the extent of corruption in the area of public financial management. However, the most vulnerable area to corruption is budget execution especially, procurement. Absence of well functioning cash management, accounting and auditing also nourish the evil of corruption. This book is intended to help public financial professionals, donor organizations, accountants, budget planners, and anti-corruption organizations to recognize and combat the most vulnerable area of corruption in public financial management.
