The purpose of this book is to find out about the significance of the Seven Deadly Sins in a modern managerial context. In order to illustrate this, the origin and the development of the Sins is depicted before putting them in a modern context by showing their omnipresence in everyday life as well as in the arts and in the media. Then, three of the Cardinal Vices - Anger, Greed and Envy - are examined, at first in general and after that from a managerial perspective. These considerations will demonstrate that the Seven Deadly Sins are indeed an important factor that needs to be noted when doing business because they cause costs due to their destructivity. However, one will also see that the possibility of containment of the Sins is limited on account of external factors that cannot be influenced by a corporation.
The author was born in 1986 in Munich and studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen and at Singapore Management University.
