Though much has been written on the political, economic and social issues of the country, heritage management has remained to be one of the most neglected themes in the historiography of Ethiopia. It is ,yet, untouched and seems far behind the attention of historians.Although there is a little literature in the field,it lacks in-depth study, historical perspective,critical looking and evaluation of historical sources that are indispensable for current cultural heritage management. In this regard, this book helps to bridge the lacuna. The book covers the imperial period of Haileslassie I from 1944 to 1974 that represents a turning point in heritage management of the country.
