The Holy Ghost Fathers from France were the first ones to evangelise Ukamba in 1912.From 1912 to 1918 the only station they had was Kabaa.The first Bishop Ndingi Mwana´A Nzeki was appointed on September 1969.On August 1st 1969 12 Bishops were consecrated by Pope Paul VI for various countries of Africa among them was the new bishop of Machakos. On 7th September 1969 at Machakos stadium the bishop was installed.On 9th October I971 Bishop Ndingi was transferred to Nakuru. On 20th July 1973, it was announced that Fr. Urbanus Kioko the new Bishop.His consecration took place on 7th October 1973.Bishop Kioko retired on Jan 2003 and Bishop Boniface Lele of Kitui became the Apostolic Administrator on January 2003 to 3rd June 2003.On 15th March 2003 The Holy Father appointed Fr. Martin Kivuva Musonde from Mombasa the new Bishop of Machakos.Bishop Martin was Installed on 3rd June 2003 as the New Bishop of Machakos.On 24th June 2009 Fr Daniel Kasomo from Machakos Diocese was ordained Bishop in Nairobi without Papal mandate.He has applied for legitimation of his Episcopal ministry. Todate the Diocese has produced three Bishops and close to 150 Priests. The book is good to all Missionarires.
Dr Kasomo Daniel is A Roman Catholic Bishop and the Leader of The Society of St Peter and Paul in Kenya.A Senior Lecturer in Maseno University. Former Dean of Students and Student Counsellor in Egerton University. Former Chairperson of Religious Studies Department in Catholic University.He has published widely on Pastoral Counselling and Religion.
