Sowing wheat after rice harvesting without land preparation is known as Zero-till which is a resource conservation technique. It reduces cost and increases wheat yield because of 2-3 weeks early sowing. But all types of soils are not equally suitable for sowing of zero-till wheat. In order to delineate the suitable soils for zero-till wheat sowing better understanding of soil variability patterns has been required. This book provides an idea to the reader which method is best for generating surfaces for finding the soil spatial variability using satellite imagery and geo-statistical analysis. There has been much important development in the science of GIS and remote sensing with its application in site specific agriculture. This book will provide a detailed idea to reader what is the importance of site specific agriculture and how GIS and Remote Sensing can be incorporated for Site specific agriculture. The basic of soil and tillage, especially importance of Zero-tillage in rice wheat areas of the world is covered in this book and a model was developed for finding the suitable soils for zero-tillage wheat sowing in rice- wehat areas of the world.
