This book is an exposition of the Major Religions of the World, including African Traditional Religion, North American Native religion, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Confucianism, Shinto, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism, and Bahai Fith, it shows what each of these religions has in common with Christianity. The author maintains that all religions are basically one in various cultural forms of expression, that the differences between the various religions of the world are basically cultural differences. He sees religion as essentially the human spirit searching for the Divine Spirit from which it came and to which it wants to return, and he argues that different religions are different ways in which the human spirit is searching for its source, the Divine Spirit.
Born in 1944, Prof. Joseph I.Omoregbe was educated at Gregorian University (Rome), Lateran University(Rome),and Catholic University of Louvain(Belgium).He holds three doctorate degrees in Philosophy, Religious Studies and Theology. He has taught Religious Studies and Philosophy in Universities in Nigeria,Swaziland and currently in Lesotho.
