It is widely and increasingly being accepted that the power of media for the making and destabilizing a nation is undoubtedly significant. For instance, The South African Medias´ that harmonize the peaceful political transformation on the one hand and the flaming role of Radio Malcooloni for the genocide in Rwanda in the other hand could be the living example of post cold war politics of Africa. In this connection, this study investigates how Ethiopians´ viewed the role of media most importantly; Radio Ethiopia and the Voice of America, on the 2005 National Election of Ethiopia.
Mesfin Demissie has a Masters Degree in Political Science & Internal Relations from Addis Ababa University. Currently, he is working as Head of Research & Consultancy Coordination Office & Lecturer at the Central University College, Addis Ababa/Ethiopia.
