This monograph introduces the main features of the research process and provides information which facilitates in taking decisions about how to undertake a research project. The monograph is intended for professionals with little or no previous research knowledge. If a project is worth doing, then it is probably worth convincing an interested organization to fund it. There are no guaranteed ways of securing funding but there are steps one can take to maximize the chances of success. The monograph demonstrates clearly the entire process of a research project, including modes of dissemination and practical implementation of results. It begins with the ´Introduction´, then ´The Research Process´ takes the reader through a whistle stop tour of the research process, the next section ´Research Promoting Strategies´, looks at the context of research funding, the section on ´Researcher Qualities" spells out the personal ingredients required and the last section ´Research Life´ gives an idea of what to expect from research life. Written in a simple language the monograph will provide an understanding of the research process and the requirements of a research career.
