The study uses a fairly small sample, therefore generalizations or definite conclusions can only be tentative. The finding of this study shows that undergraduate students´ attention has been shifted from the Library to the Internet in supporting their academic needs and enhancing their academic performance. This might not be unconnected to the fact that the internet contains wider coverage of information. It is a faster way of communication. Students therefore prefer to use the Internet as it contains adequate and current information. Above all, the Internet is devoid of routines and so gives room for quick and easy access. The present scenario is that university libraries in Nigeria are backward in the provision of adequate requisite bibliographic resources for their teaming patrons. It is a great challenge indeed, that these libraries also have the demands of the present information society upon them. The World Wide Web is therefore an additional information resource that librarians in this part of the world should encourage students the use. The only way to realize this is for this group of professionals to embrace the new technology and become knowledgeable in its operations.
