Though democratic decentralisation has been one of the major policy concerns of the ´new democracies´, including Ethiopia, studies concerning its role for and impact on women political empowerment, especially at the local level is largely missing.In the book, the author has assessed the opportunities, challenges and prospects of women political empowerment in Addis Ketema Sub-City of Addis Ababa within the framework of Ethiopia´s decentralisation drive.
