The subtropical climatic conditions under which the fruit trees are growing in Egypt, permit for various pests and diseases to be active and present throughout the growing season. Among which, plant- parasitic nematodes are the most serious problems of the long-term perennial trees and vine crops. Consequently, the objectives of this work were designated to study the following aims of view: 1- Survey and seasonal fluctuations study on plant- parasitic nematode genera associated with fruit orchards in Ismailia Governorate, Egypt. 2- Identification of surveyed root-knot nematodes using perineal patterns and molecular biology (SCAR- PCR) techniques. 3- Pathogenicity study to determine the susceptibility of some banana cultivars to the root- knot nematode and use SDS-PAGE technique to show the differences in buffer soluble proteins extracted from the banana cultivars. 4- Study the efficacy of alternative control methods such as plant volatile oil extracts, organic amendments and biocontrol microorganisms, for root- knot nematode management comparing with nematicides.
