The book examines the morpho-syntax of Kikamba a Bantu language using the Minimalist theory. It demonstrates the interaction between Morphology and Syntax. The Research Problem focuses on the role of functional categories and their influence on parametric values selected for specific parameters of Universal Grammar. The structure of the Kikamba nominal and verbal complex is analyzed with an emphasis on functional categories and the role of Agreement as a significant category. The book provides concrete evidence for the operations of universal principles subsumed under the Principles and Parameters framework and the Minimalist Program and would be useful to students and scholars in the areas of Syntax, Morphology and Language Acquisition.
