Financial scandals in some developed countries in the last two decades and rapid growth of private sector and growing need for attracting overseas investment in order to enhance economic growth in many developing nations have made corporate governance a highly charged political issue. Dr. Md. Anwarul Kabir obtained PhD on corporate governance in 2009 and his PhD study was jointly hosted by University of Dundee, UK and University of Chittagong, Bangladesh.In 15 year long teaching career in the University of Chittagong,Associate Professor Kabir published a number of research papers on company law and corporate governance.
