Dental infections are often reported in Pakistan. Dental diseases include caries and periodontal diseases caused by microorganisms which are part of normal flora. Dental procedures like tooth extraction, endodontic treatment, periodontal surgery and scaling cause significant bleeding resulting in bacteremia. Antibiotic resistant bacteria on tooth surface have the ability to produce biofilm which can increase the incidence of bacteremia.
