This book is an outcome of a study that was carried out on the repatriation of Rwandese refugees in Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Isingiro District, Uganda. The study specifically analyzes international law of repatriation, problems hindering repatriation and mechanisms for popularizing repatriation. The book argues that although repatriation is a preferred durable solution to the refugee problem in the world today, it is not appropriate for the Rwandese refugees in Uganda. For repatriation to be durable, there is need for the strict observance of international law of repatriation, addressing the root causes of refugees and tackling all the hindrances that may stop refugees from going home. Insights from this book are relevant to governments especially those hosting refugees, humanitarian agencies, NGOs and other organisations dealing with refugees. It also provides useful information to forced migration and refugee studies researchers, students, donor agencies, and policy makers especially in the field of forced migration.
