Understanding agricultural knowledge management system is important for agricultural development because it can help to understand their indigenous knowledge, how to acquire,use and transfer their knowledge. In Ethiopia,different research and extension works have been done to alleviate agricultural problems but these efforts did not bring significant improvement.Currently, among other developmental resources, appropriate and relevant knowledge is an important resource. However,in Ethiopia little efforts are done to study agricultural knowledge management systems of certain locality. So, this book can give brief understanding about agricultural knowledge management system and its challenges and opportunities to design and implement demand-driven agricultural research and extension works. Besides, it helps for policy makers,researchers and extension workers how to strengthen and scaling up the existing knowledge creation, acquisition,utilization and diffusion system of a success full locality and how to bring the knowledge sources, transferors and users in one place to deliver the right knowledge at the right time and place to the right users.
Habtemariam Assefa has been working as socio-economic program coordinator and researcher. B.Sc. degree in agricultural extension at Alemaya University and M.A. in Regional and Local Development Study in Addis Ababa University. Currently working as research-extension researcher at Andassa Livestock Research center, ARARI, Bahir Dar.
