The dynamism in social, political and environmental conditions brings new challenges on the sector. As a result there is a new demand on the significance of training for effective farm business. To make farming a successful commercial business, all the factors affecting its efficiency and profitability must be considered. Obviously, the principles of management should be applied to farming activity. Change agents and farmers need to have better skills to achieve the goals of farming However, shortage of skilled man power and suitable text books challenges the success. This book; therefore, is intended for students attending farm management course. It will present the basic concepts, principles and application of farm management with examples, exercises and review questions. Questions of how to best organize and manage farm business; in such a way that profit will be maximized and risk will be minimized, are answered by this book.
The author holds M.Sc. in Rural Development and B.Sc. in Agricultural Extension from Haramaya University. He has nearly a decade academic experience and has developed training and advisory skills. Formerly; he has published research output on "Livelihood Strategies and Food Security in Southern Ethiopia".
