The crucial role of electronic state media outlets in promoting health education is seldom questionable, all the more so when these media outlets are utilized to air health education programs via various entertaining art forms.In this regard Television has been, perhaps, most enduring in creating awareness and empowering the audience with enabling skills in many facets of our lives including maintaining healthy life style. The many good reasons justifying the importance of infotainment TV episodes for the proper conveyance of adult health education to the general public boils down to this:- enlightenment through informal education. On the one hand, such programs emerge out as uncontested alternative to reach the multitude of adults. On the other hand the stated educational approaches will rescue them from thinking into the production of lengthy and boring health education concepts right after a hectic day time work. The goal of this book is to address the gap in adult health education in television programs. Adult health educators & concerned organizations would be the major beneficiaries of this study. It will be an add-up to adult health education in television.
Deribe Tafesse Degefa, MA: studied Adult and lifelong learning at Addis Ababa University. He also studied Accounting and Ethiopian language and literature. He is currently studying public health at Alkan University College. Deribe has been heavily involved in the production and dissemination of more than two hundred audio-visual materials.
