In the light of innovations in technology, globalization and, as a consequence, a large potential market worldwide, small firms more and more internationalize rapidly into foreign markets right from their inception. In this context, International Entrepreneurship has become an emerging phenomenon in international business. The present book develops a theoretic framework to outline the role played by the international entrepreneur during the first stages of evolution of new international ventures. Preparatory to the topic, a summary of the international entrepreneurship research domain and its evolution is given. The examination of the role of the entrepreneur starts with key dimensions of international entrepreneurship, followed by a theoretic framework of international entrepreneurship, which outlines the role and position of the entrepreneur during the start-up process. The book ends with perspectives on possible future research topics of international entrepreneurship as one of the youngest disciplines in economic sciences.

Cristian CiucÆ graduated 1989 as Master of Science at the Polytechnic Institute Bucharest in Electronics and Telecommunications. Later on, being attracted by the area of international economics, he graduated 2011 at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna in European Economy and Business Management as Master of Arts in Business.
