Over the past few years words like DNA fingerprinting´, gene transfer´, clones´, have become common. It is interesting to find the underlying science of Genetics. Biomolecules like proteins, lipids and carbohydrates form the building blocks of all living organisms and the knowledge of these helps us make the right decisions about our everyday needs including food, cosmetics, and exercise, to name a few. Agashe has developed easy self-learning materials in Basics of Genetics and Biomolecules, complete with tests and answers, through repeated trials on students. The results of the content-based-tests revealed that more than 95% students achieved minimum 83%. The success of the skillfully written Programmed Learning materials is attributable to the inbuilt principles of flexibility of pace, time and convenience of individual student. The book describes the procedure of developing these materials and provides samples of the learning materials. The ready to use printed or electronic version of these learning materials should be beneficial for students, teachers and those involved in the production of computer-based individualized learning materials.
