While stressing the importance of the media´s struggle against corruption, one should ask whether or not the Ethiopian media houses make an effort to uncover corruption cases in a timely basis so that the public can make an informed decision. This thesis has, therefore, attempted to assess the content of corruption coverage by the Amharic bi-weekly Reporter. The result of the study shows that embezzlement was the leading from of corruption theme. The newspaper used the Ethiopian corruption watchdog as its main source of story. The research also indicated that Reporter gave more prominence to corruption issues at institutional level rather than at individual basis. The study further noted that the newspaper´s biggest strength was that it used its own staff writers to author the stories.
