Civic and Ethical Education is an important component of education that cultivates citizens to participate in the public life of a democracy, to use their rights and to discharge their responsibilities with the necessary knowledge and skills. Mengistu Gutema Kebede obtained his MA in Federal Studies from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia). He is the author of Education Decentralization in Ethiopia. He has been teaching Civics and Ethics for five years in government and private institutions. Currently, he is a lecturer in Civics and Ethics at General Wingate TVET College (Ethiopia).
