With continuing growth of international tourism and tourists spending, much emphasis has been placed on gathering travel expenditure data. But studies on tourists spending behaviours are still very limited, and there is a lack of supporting empirical work in tourists´ behavior literature. As the nature and extent of expenditures are discretionary, it is crucial to understand tourists spending behaviors and the factors affecting such behaviour. During the process of developing sustainable and profitable tourist products, tourism planners take into consideration a wide range of activities tourists engage in. Knowledge on the expenditure patterns and extent of tourists´ spending during their visit to a particular destination will be helpful in the strategic planning of facilities and amenities. Tourists´ expenditure can be divided into two main broad categories. This book attempts to discuss the nature of expenditure and the extent of Uncategorized´ expenditure of tourists´ in Northeast India, an emerging destination.
