Proper storage of pear fruits extends the period of availability of pear fruits by reducing the rate of respiration and transpirational losses during period between harvest and consumption. The quality traits that undergo deterioration in pear during storage in most of cases are of physical and bio-chemical origin and rate of changes are influenced by environmental factors, harvesting period and use of various chemicals. During storage pear quality mainly deteriorated due to brown core.Pear cvs treated with higher concentration of Diphenylamine (DPA) i.e. 1500ppm proved most efficacious in enhancing the storage life of pear fruits of different cultivars.Dr.Sumanjit Kaur did her B.Sc from Govt Brijindr college Faridkot,Masters in Horticulture from Khalsa college Amritsar and completed Doctorate From Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana in 2009.She had qualified National Eligibility Test in the year 2008.Presently she is working as a RA at Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana.
