Gender equality is a component of sustainable development practices. However, due to ill perceptions and underdevelopment, women are marginalized from social, economic, political and cultural rights. This is particularly common in developing countries in general and in Ethiopia in particular. To alleviate these development obstacle governmental bodies, domestic and international non governmental organizations are moving forward in Ethiopia. In this book, the researcher tried to explore theoretical backgrounds related to gender and gender inequalities, and then emphasized on the role of non governmental organizations particularly Norwegian Church Aid Ethiopia in alleviating the problem from Ethiopian localities from 1998 to 2004.
