Johanna Spyri, geboren 1827, wuchs in einer großen Familie auf dem Land auf, war Privatlehrerin und zog aufgrund ihrer Heirat nach Zürich. Die Schweizer Schriftstellerin verfasste viele Erzählungen und Romane für Kinder und Jugendliche; die Gestalt ihrer ´Heidi´ wurde weltberühmt. Die Autorin verstarb 1901.
