This book is based on empirical evidence and primary data from the local communities in post-conflict areas of northern Uganda. It depicts how Donor Agencies at most times have neglected the poor´s ideas and approaches to develop themselves. Corruption and mistrust between local communities and their governments is also exclusively exposed. Thoughts of the poor and how would they have loved development approaches to be designed is also exhibited. This book compared the Development Cooperation programmes of the three international Development Agencies i.e. German International Development Agency (GIZ), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Department for International development (DFID). The Geo-social political interests were also discovered as they differed to development of the poor, while even levels of participation were analysed and presented against each development agency. For the purposes of credibility, this research was examined by two most trusted Professors in Germany before it was submitted. It is a must read and reliable book for those interested in the role of the poor in determining their destiny.
