Die Art Unlimited: Ambitionierte Kunst im Großformat

Alljährlich wird auf der Art Basel die Sonderschau Art Unlimited gezeigt. Das Konzept einer Großausstellung auf musealem Niveau im Rahmen einer Kunstmesse ist einzigartig und bei Sammlern und Besuchern gleichermaßen beliebt. Über sechzig Künstler erhielten in diesem Jahr Zugang zu der legendären Plattform. Die erstmals von Gianni Jetzer kuratierte Art Unlimited sprengt bewusst Grenzen. Gezeigt werden unter anderem XXL-Kunstwerke, die nur in einer gigantischen Halle Wirkung entfalten können. Die aktuelle Ausgabe der Art Unlimited verspricht dabei sowohl Spektakel als auch Tiefgründigkeit. Sie ist kein Museum, das ordnet und klassifiziert, sondern eine dynamische Sammlung von solistischen Kunstwerken, welche die Lebhaftigkeit von Gegenwartskunst unter Beweis stellt. Der Katalogband dokumentiert die Ausstellung.

Art Basel presents the 13th edition of Art Unlimited. The concept it represents of a large-scale museum-quality exhibition in the framework of an art fair is unique and popular among collectors and visitors alike. This year the meanwhile legendary platform will feature over sixty artists and be curated by Gianni Jetzer, Director of the Swiss Institute, New York for the first time. Boundaries are consciously broken, as can be seen in the oversized artworks that require a gigantic exhibition hall to come into their own.

This years edition of Art Unlimited promises to be both spectacular and profound. Unlike a museum that organizes and classifies, it is a dynamic collection of solo artworks that testify, at the highest level, to the vitality of contemporary art. The limited-edition catalog documents the show.
