Spektakuläre Großskulpturen mitten in der Natur eine Kunstausstellung der ganz besonderen Art

Die britische Cass Sculpture Foundation wurde ins Leben gerufen, um ein neues Modell für die Entwicklung und Präsentation von Großskulpturen zu schaffen. Die Stiftung sollte dabei vollkommen unabhängig und nachhaltig arbeiten, in der Lage sein, die gezeigten Werke regelmäßig auszutauschen, und etablierten wie jungen Künstlern weltweit die Gelegenheit geben, ambitionierte neue Werke zu realisieren.
Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1992 konnte die Cass Sculpture Foundation über 400 Großplastiken bei bedeutenden zeitgenössischen Künstlern in Auftrag geben, darunter Anthony Caro, Tony Cragg, Stephen Cox, Andy Goldsworthy, Marc Quinn, Kiki Smith, Gavin Turk, Marianne Vitale und Rachel Whiteread. Die so entstandenen Werke wurden auf dem mehr als 10 Hektar großen Waldgebiet im Besitz der gemeinnützigen Stiftung in Goodwood in West Sussex gezeigt.

The Cass Sculpture Foundation grew out of a belief that there was the need to develop a new model for commissioning and exhibiting large-scale sculpture, one that would allow the Foundation to remain completely sustainable, regularly change the works on display, and give established and emerging sculptors worldwide the opportunity to realize ambitious new works.Since its inception in 1992, the Foundation has commissioned and exhibited over four hundred works from important contemporary artists including: Anthony Caro, Tony Cragg, Stephen Cox, Andy Goldsworthy, Marc Quinn, Kiki Smith, Gavin Turk, Marianne Vitale, and Rachel Whiteread. These have been displayed across the Foundations twenty-six acres of woodland at Goodwood, West Sussex.
