Mary Anna Walker doesn t have it easy. For starters she is half Cherokee Indian and in her time Indians were not looked upon as acceptable. When she is twelve she is forced to make a run from her Georgia plantation home into Tennessee to avoid the Trail of Tears. Her brother, grandmother and childhood friend, Rachel Lloyd accompany her on the life changing journey north. Once in Tennessee she meets the charming John Braymyer, but soon after tragedy strikes and she soon realizes that her journey has just begun as the army is still on the look out for Indians. She is now on the road to her new home, Braymyer Ridge as two of her descendants make the same trip in 1994. They are forced to endure the tragedies that life throws their way, but are always being pushed forward by the hope of a better life. But once they arrive in the newfound Missouri territory will the life they hoped to create for their growing family be harder to obtain than they thought? Born and raised in a small north Texas town, Dusty Williams has always found time to put his thoughts to paper. He began writing at an early age and has never seemed to quit.
