Wake up - it´s springtime! As 999 Frogs awaken from a long winter´s nap, they´re surprised to find that many other animals are still sleeping. Not for long! The froglets and their big brother gleefully awaken a turtle, a lizard, and some ladybugs. But when snoring leads them down a hole, they pull out someone they don´t want to wake - a big, long snake. How will 999 Frogs escape?

Wake up-it´s springtime in the swamp! As 999 young frogs awaken, they panic to find that all of the other animals are still asleep. First they wake the biggest frog... then the tortoise, the lizard, and the ladybugs. But when they hop down a hole and all pull together, they find someone they don´t want to wake-a big, long snake. Don´t wake him up! Luckily for the frogs, the tortoise carefully carries him away.

Yasunari Murakami ist 1955 in Japan geboren. Neben der Illustration von Kinderbüchern widmet er sich auch gerne Naturdarstellungen. Seine Arbeiten wurden unter anderem mit dem Bologna Graphic Award und dem Japanischen Bilderbuch Award ausgezeichnet.

Ken Kimura, geboren 1949 in Japan, schreibt Kinderbücher und entwickelt Spielzeug. Er selbst liebte es als Kind, Kaulquappen zu fangen. Die Geschichte der 999 Froschgeschwister basiert auf dieser Kindheitserinnerung. Ken Kimura sammelt Froschfiguren aller Art.
