In the past decades, many mergers and acquisitions (M&A) have failed due to the clash of the merging cultures. An often stated reason is the fact that the management of these organizations missed to take the crucial role of culture into account. This research paper aims to investigate possible causes for the high number of M&A failures between firms due to culture clash by addressing the optimal design of a due diligence phase.
