Katalog zum russischen Pavillon auf der Biennale in Venedig 2013 Der in Moskau und Berlin lebende Künstler Vadim Zakharov (geb. 1959 in Duschambe) zählt zum Kreis der Moskauer Konzeptualisten. Seine tragende Funktion als Archivar und Protagonist dieser Bewegung hat seine Arbeitsweise von den späten 1970er-Jahren bis heute geprägt, wobei sich diese durch ein Höchstmaß an Kreativität und der Unabhängigkeit schöpferischen Denkens auszeichnet. Partizipation und Aktionismus sind in seinem Werk von Beginn an zentrale künstlerische Handlungsformen gewesen. Udo Kittelmann, Direktor der Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, betreut als erster nichtrussischer Kurator den russischen Pavillon auf der Biennale in Venedig und zeigt eine neue Installation des Künstlers, mit dem er seit 1995 zusammenarbeitet. Der begleitende Katalog wird in Kooperation mit der Stella Art Foundation in Moskau herausgegeben.

His crucial role as archivist and protagonist of this movement has shaped his manner of working since the late 1970s, a manner which is characterized by exceptional creativity and independent artistic thinking. Participation and actionism have always been key forms of activity in his career.
Udo Kittelmann, director of the Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, is the first non-Russian curator of the Russian Pavilion and is presenting a new installation by the artist, with whom he has been working since 1995. The Stella Art Foundation, Moscow, is co-publisher of the book.
