Ed Piskor wurde 1982 geboren und studierte an der Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. Seit 2005 ist er als professioneller Zeichner tätig. Bekannt wurde Piskor durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Szenarist Harvey Pekar, einem Pionier des US-Underground-Comix. Er zeichnete für Pekars autobiographische Serie American Splendor und schuf mit ihm die beiden Graphic Novels Macedonia und The Beats. Wizzywig ist sein erstes großes Solo-Projekt. Piskors Stil ist beeinflusst von der Underground Comicszene der 1960er und 1970er Jahre. Als eines seiner wichtigsten Vorbilder nennt er Robert Crumb.
