Powerful techno-social forces collectively known as the Knowledge Age are buffeting education. This book examines these forces, how they are affecting the world, what educators know and indicates a promising direction for education in the future. Among the forces examined are the Knowledge Age itself, neuroscience and cognitive psychology, psycholinguistics, the history of education, the nature of innovation, educational technology and directions for the future.

Dr. Don Philip has degrees in science, music and education. He taught for the Toronto Board of Education for before returning to academia. Until recently he was the Program Coordinator for the Science Education Minor Program, University of Toronto, Mississauga. He is currently an Adjunct Scientist with the iDAPT Centre for Rehabilitation Research.
