The book attempts to unravel Ramanujan s poems in the light of its main theme which shows a sensibility hovering between two opposite environments. The book is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces Indian English poetry in a historical perspective, and also takes into account the poetry written during the pre-Independence and post-Independence periods. The following chapters discuss the different volumes of the poet, i.e. The Striders, Relations, Second Sight and The Black Hen. The concluding chapter of the book is focused on the conflicts of cultures, generations, and ideologies.
