Haematological and blood biochemical profile vary among the species, breed, different age groups and physiological states of animals. The baseline data on haemato-biochemical profile of a new strain of cattle called Frieswal developed by means of intensive crossbreeding between Sahiwal and Friesian cattle are described in the book. The book also describes the influence of age, pregnancy, lactation and season on haemato-biochemical profile of apparently healthy Frieswal cattle. The data presented in the book will be useful for academic purposes and can also be utilized in further investigations on health status of Frieswal cattle, diagnosis of various diseases and application of therapeutic medicines. The baseline data may be useful in proper designing and dosing of newly discovered drugs in various physiological or disease conditions.

Dr. Prava Mayengbam completed B.V.Sc. & A.H. under AAU, Assam, India, M.V. Sc. & A.H. under JNKVV, Jabalpur, M.P., India and Ph.D. in Animal Physiology from NDRI, Karnal, Haryana, India. Presently, she is working as an Assistant Professor at C.V.Sc. & A.H., CAU, Aizawl, Mizoram, India. She has published 15 research papers in referred journals.
