Mit beachtlicher Konzentration kreist Lois Weinberger ( 1947 in Stams, Tirol) seit den 1970er-Jahren in seinen Arbeiten um das Sujet der Natur. In Reaktion auf gesellschaftliche Debatten und Fragen zur Grenze zwischen Natur und Kultur lässt er die Natur selbst zu Wort kommen. Grünzeug, Wildwuchs, Brachland oder zivilisatorische Peripherien dienen Weinberger als Verweise auf die allem Lebendigen eingeschriebene innere Dynamik. Durch minimalistische Gestaltung und kaum sichtbare Intervention verwandelt er Pflanzen und Flora in "perfekt provisorische Gebiete", die die Vollkommenheit veränderlicher, unfertiger, scheinbar sinn- und strukturloser Prozesse und Zustände offenbaren. Das international beachtete und in seiner Aussage poetisch-universale uvre des Documenta-Teilnehmers von 1997 und Künstlers des Österreichischen Pavillons auf der Biennale di Venezia 2009 ist tief verwurzelt in seiner Tiroler Heimat.

In response to social discourses and issues concerning the boundary between nature and culture, he lets nature speak for itself. Greenery, proliferate growth, wastelands, or the peripheries of civilization serve as references to the inner dynamism inscribed in everything that lives.
