Mit vielen Bildern, Texten der Künstler und Künstlerinnen sowie der Jurymitglieder präsentiert das Buch die ausgezeichneten Arbeiten des Prix Ars Electronica 2014. Seit seinem Gründungsjahr 1987 ist der Prix Ars Electronica ein jährliches Trendbarometer der digitalen Künste und nimmt eine Vorreiterrolle im Entdecken künstlerischer Innovationen ein. Internationale Expertinnen und Experten bewerteten dieses Jahr Tausende eingereichte Arbeiten in den Kategorien "Computer Animation / Film / VFX", "Interactive Art", Digital Communities", "[the next idea] voestalpine Art and Technology Grant" und dem Jugendwettbewerb "u19 - CREATE YOUR WORLD". Darüber hinaus werden auch die Gewinnerprojekte des "Prix Ars Electronica Collide@CERN Award" präsentiert, dem neuen Artist-in-Residence-Programm von CERN und Ars Electronica. sowie die neu geschaffene Goldene Nica für "Visionary Pioneers of Media Art".

The book documenting the works that won the 2014 Prix Ars Electronica features numerous pictures and texts by the artists and jury members. The DVD contains a selection of prizewinning submissions dealing with current trends. Since its founding in 1987, the Prix Ars Electronica has been an annual barometer of tendencies in digital art and has taken on a pioneering role in discovering artistic innovations. International experts evaluate thousands of submissions to the categories of "Computer Animation/Film/VFX, Digital Music & Sound Art, Interactive Art, Digital Communities, [the next idea] voestalpine Art and Technology Grant, and the special youth competition u19 CREATE YOUR WORLD. Furthermore, the book also presents the winning projects of the Prix Ars Electronica Collide@CERN Award, the new artist-in-residence program sponsored by CERN and Ars Electronica, and the newly created Golden Nica for "Visionary Pioneers of Media Art".

Christine Schöpf, Studium der Germanistik und Romanistik; seit 1981 Leiterin des Ressorts Kultur/Wissenschaft im ORF Oberösterreich, Schwerpunkt Ars Electronica, seit 1987 Prix Ars Electronica.

Hannes Leopoldseder, geboren 1940, Mitbegründer der Ars Electronica und Initiator des "Prix Ars Electronica". 1974 - 1998 Landesintendant des ORF Oberösterreich, seit 1998 Informationsintendant ORF Wien.

Gerfried Stocker, geboren 1964, Medienkünstler, Musiker, Ingenieur für Nachrichtentechnik. 1991 Gründung von x-space. Seit 1995 Geschäftsführer und künstlerischer Leiter des Ars Electronica Center.
