Upper Egypt is a region of the Nile Valley in Egypt, between Luxor and Aswan and the historical region of Lower Nubia, characterised by a number of ancient settlements and temple towns that draw thousands of travellers every year. The Western Desert occupies a huge area of Egypt, on the side of the Nile that symbolized death. The western lands were where the sun god Ra went to die each day, and where the souls of the pharaohs went following their entombment. It´s harsh and deserted but contains a handful of oases. This book offers information on two regions in Egypt - Upper Egypt and Western Desert.
