Magorian, Michelle
Michelle Magorian´s first ambition was to be an actress and, after three years´ study at the Bruford College of Speech and Drama, she went to mime school in Paris. All this time she had been secretly scribbling stories, and in her mid-twenties he became interested in children´s books and decided to write one herself. The result was GOODNIGHT MISTER TOM - a winner of the Guardian Award and the International Reading Association Award and was also made into a much-loved film starring the late John Thaw. Since then she has published several novels, including award-wining BACK HOME and JUST HENRY (Egmont), which won the Costa Book Award in 2008. She has also published poetry and short-story collections and picture books for young children.
