La collection Manuals of Romance Linguistics (MRL) a l´ambition de présenter un panorama d´ensemble de la linguistique romane tenant compte des derniers acquis de la recherche. Elle comprendra une soixantaine de volumes qui pourront être utilisés séparément tout en offrant dans leur totalité une bonne approche globale de l´éventail actuel de la linguistique romane. L´accent sera mis en particulier sur les linguae minores.

Le présent manuel entend dresser un bilan actualisé des bases de documentation relatives aux différentes langues romanes. Il contient une description critique des anthologies établies dans une perspective linguistique et des corpus (électroniques et autres) réalisés. Cette description envisage autant les langues standard qu´un choix délibéré des variantes diatopiques et diastratiques les plus particularisées. Une section spécifique est consacrée aux langues créoles lexifiées à partir des langues romanes. Toutes les langues romanes et leurs variantes retenues s´accompagnent de textes commentés et sélectionnés en fonction de leur représentativité. Ce manuel compte ainsi fournir un aper‡u général du développement de toutes langues romanes vivantes et de leurs variétés à partir des premières mises à l´écrit.

The series Manuals of Romance Linguistics (MRL) aims to present a comprehensive, state-of-the-art overview of Romance linguistics. It will comprise approximately 60 volumes that can either be consulted individually or used as a series of books providing a detailed overall picture of the current state of research in Romance linguistics. A special focus will be placed on the presentation and analysis of the smaller languages, the linguae minores .

This manual contains a description of the existing anthologies and corpora that have so far been compiled for the Romance languages. It takes into account the standard languages and a selection of well-attested diatopic and diastratic varieties as well as Romance-based Creoles. Representative texts are provided for all varieties discussed.

The new series Manuals of Romance Linguistics (MRL), whose volumes will begin to appear in 2014, aims to present a comprehensive, state-of-the-art overview of Romance linguistics. It will comprise approximately 50 volumes that can either be consulted individually or used as a series of books providing a detailed overall picture of the current state of research in Romance linguistics. A special focus will be placed on the presentation and analysis of the smaller languages, the linguae minores , which the two older reference works of the discipline, Lexikon der Romanistischen Linguistik (1988-2005) and Romanische Sprachgeschichte (2003-2008), could not discuss in detail.
