The study of Youth has received much interest in recent years and a variety of scholars from diverse scientific backgrounds seek to understand the concept of youth and youth development. This dynamic period of transition and how their potential can be utilized through their engagement in various fields such as development, governance, and such other issues. The dynamic and short period of time (youth) provides social scientists with a host of fascinating research questions that lend themselves well to both in-depth, singular case studies and comparative analysis. I posit that such research provides valuable theoretical insights while encouraging a plurality of approaches that seek to comprehend, unpack and seek to analyze the potential of youth engagement in various activities in the society. Although there are voluminous studies which focus on peace building, there is a need for a book that will assist researchers as they navigate the burgeoning new research on youth engagement in peace building. Thus the aim of this book is to provide scholars, graduate students, researchers and policy-makers with a comprehensive understanding of how youth can be engaged in peace building.
