The deleterious effects of plant extracts or pure compounds on insects can be manifested in several manners including toxicity, repellent, antifeedant growth inhibitor, suppression of reproductive behavior and reduction of fecundity and fertility. Different types of plant preparations such as powders, solvent extracts, essential oils and whole plants are being investigated for their insecticidal activity including their action as fumigants, repellents, antifeedants, anti-ovipositions and insect growth regulators. The Egyptian woody perennials, Ipomea carnea belongs to family Convolvulaceae; been used in ancient system of medicine in many countries but not to great extent. The fact is that plant had many medical and control properties as well. The present work is an attempt to produce a new promising approach to suppress the population of cotton pests using plant extracts which have been shown to act as potential acute or chronic insecticides can be used in programs of integrated pest management, cheap, used safely, economically and environmentally acceptable
